On 14 December 2019, Cihai Environmental Foundation (Sources for Action) and Partnerships for Community Development (PCD) Beijing Representative Office jointly invited Satish Kumar, founder of Schumacher College, and Tian Song, Philosophy Professor of Beijing Normal University, to discuss Ecological Civilisation and Holistic Education. We share their conversation, which we have only partially edited.
In May 2020, PCD issued its magazine Fragrant Soil Issue 11 as well as The Annual Report (2018-2019) of Partnerships for Community Development (PCD). Fragrant Soil Issue 11 “To See the Local” features a collection of stories and reflections by practitioners based in various places. “Being rooted and practicing mindfully, a brand new life is no longer an inaccessible dream, but a reality happening and evolving in the moment.” The Annual Report (2018-2019) of Partnerships for Community Development (PCD) is divided into six sections, and the highlighted programme focus for the year was Sustainable Living Network.
“Sustainable Living Learning with Youth across China and Southeast Asia” This programme focuses on youth, ecological agriculture, sustainable living and traditional wisdom. Through engaging in the overseas experience and reflecting on their own society, they gain experience in social development, expand their international perspectives, and strengthen their practical skills.
