Dear Friends of PCD,
Welcome to the first edition of PCD's newsletter! PCD has evolved through many phases since its birth in 2001 and it is my great pleasure to be able to introduce to you this new publication on this, our 10th, anniversary.
PCD's mission has developed to the point where we now aim to "reconnect people's hearts to nature...". This emphasis on our feelings - and on a broader, deeper understanding of who we are - has become PCD's trademark. It puts PCD's values, partners and programmes on the cutting edge of the global environmental movement - integrating nature, culture and community in the pursuit of the goal of living sustainably.
This has only been possible through the courage, hard work and love of our amazing staff. My deepest thanks go to them, as well as to our many partners, to the mainland authorities who support us and to the Kadoorie Foundation Trustees - in particular the Hon. Mrs. McAulay - who provide our funding.
May this newsletter keep all of you - our friends, partners and other stakeholders - informed and inspired for many years to come!
